SIGN HERE, FOREVER

BUGS: The first paper is spawning by mistake, it's broken and will break the tutorial

'Balatro' meets 'Papers Please'. You’re the newest scribe in a soul-hoarding paper cult.
Earn as many souls as possible by combining contract signatures across the desk. The more you connect, the more points you will get! Throw them into the soul collector to get paid for your work.

The cult leader watches your job performance closely; he needs more contracts signed every day, and fast! However you got yourself here, there's no end in sight. Think you can handle the heat? Either way, the contracts keep coming, and the ink keeps flowing. Best to just keep signing.

HOW TO SIGN (AND SURVIVE):

  • Collect the contracts: Keep clicking on the contract pile to get as many as you need.
  • Connect the Dots: Draw a looping path that starts and ends on the same symbol. Cash the signed contracts to the soul collection box to earn your reward. A symbol can't be crossed twice.
  • Chain Contracts (combos): Route one loop through multiple sheets to multiply what you earn (think 'Balatro' or 'Fruit Ninja').  The bigger the chain, the bigger your soul payout, and more time is given to you (+5 seconds)! All marked symbols on connected contracts must be inked.

  • Soul Harvesting Upgrades: Souls are the group's currency. Spend souls on machines that boost multipliers and base soul values (think 'Balatro' again). You’ll need the machines to meet the growing demand.

  • Loop Ad Infinitum: Burned out? Burning the papers in the furnace out of rage? There's no quitting, you can't escape the cult. You've signed your own fate, you're one of them now, and your own soul will be claimed otherwise. Just ink the next symbol, cash the next contract...

CONTROLS:

  • Mouse: Loop the dots, move and toss the contracts around, buy upgrades, click on UI elements
  • F1: Mute/Unmute music (except on browsers that key is also binded to open a new tab, whoops)
  • F2: Mute/Unmute sound effects

Our GMTK Jam Journey

Our jam was divided into 2 parts, first 2 days and the last 2 days. We made an experimental leaf resource game in the first half of jam. We play-tested but it was not that fun. Every idea we tried for that game didn't work, and we already spent half of the jam, so we had no choice but to brainstorm again, quickly. Only then we came up with the idea for "Sign Here, Forever". So in a funny way it turned into a 2 day game jam

Hey ! I'm very impressed that you manged to do this in only two days. The whole game is very coherent, the music matches with the visuals. It is mysterious and makes me feel kind of worried when I play, because the eye is watching me and I have no other choice that signing those papers. I had some difficulties signing the papers because I had to understand that I had to click directly on the red buttons to make ink flow, and not next to it, but I played on my phone and not on my computer so I think that's the reason why it was difficult.

The game instantaneously transported me in another little world and I liked that feeling ! Amazing!

Thanks for playing. Yes, we had to close shop on our first idea and move to another and then during Brainstorming came up with this legendary idea. The game is meant to be played on PC for better visuals. We never tested on Mobile but it's good to know that is working smoothly there as well.

That was our goal, the more you play the more involved you are. The more you get into this little world that we created.
