The twist: You are the card in the player's deck. The rules of the game are unknown. Try not to get played by shape shifting!

Every game contains unique rulesets, so be sure to play a few times.

Poor Timothy, a playing card too scared to venture out into the harsh world of the played cards pile. Help keep him safe in good hands by harnessing his unique ability to change his color and number. You will have to pay attention, Timothy has never played this version of cards and doesn't know the rules so you will need to deduce them if you want to survive!

Controls:

  • Keyboard:

         Q - Change Colors
         E - Change Number
         Space - Fast Forward Time

  • Gamepad (for some controllers):

         Left/Right buttons to switch Color/Number
Bottom Button - Fast Forward Time

  • Mouse/Mobile:

Click on the next color icon to change the color, and same with the next number icon.

The game is intended for all ages. Feedback is welcomed and appreciated by the entire team. We hope you enjoy!

every thing about the game is great . but there are two bugs , 1 is when any player finishes his card set the win menu apper and the play again button can work but the game is still going ,2 is when i win and press play again the round does not start . if you can fix those bugs it will be great

For the second bug, I believe it is fixed in the web build. Did you play the windows game jam build?

(+1)

yes and i can't play on browser cuz it does not support open gl 2.0 (or my gpu cuz it's too old and weak)

Super clever idea I love it ^^  It is VERY tricky though haha

love the game, controls are a liiiittle fiddly on mobile though

CRAZZZZZY!!!!! But fun! LOVE it!

I could play this ALL Day!

That's nice to hear! Glad you enjoy the game

Great game! To win i just looked at the cards the opponents weren't using and then it started to get easy hehe excellent idea!

Really great concept!  One thing I'm not clear on is if the rules are ANDs or ORs.  Seems like OR?  So if it's "Green Cards" for the first rule and "Prime Numbers" for the second, that means a card that is Green, Prime, or both can be played, correct?

Additionally, I feel like sometimes the rules don't work, but I could be misunderstanding things.  For instance, the first card played was a Green 9, but when I lost, the first rule said "Cards that are not Green".

After losing, it'd be nice to be able to see what cards could be played based on the given rule set I lost at, just for clarification, and if I could change Timothy to whatever color/card so that the list would update for the "+/- X numbers" rules.

If you all do an update to this, I'd be super interested in playing.  It'd also probably be a fun party game.

Thanks for playing the game and for your feedback! You are correct, there are still lots of things needed to be done to make the game super clean to understand. Plus, we need to test our rules because it does seem like some of them don't work as expected.
Right now, the game logic is based on OR rules, and each player draws a random card that matches one of them.
We are eager to experiment with the game and release a full game eventually, with story mode and everything. We even had ideas for a multiplayer mode. Glad to see you are interested in the game!

Some of the rules should be mutually exclusive. I had a game with both "Cards with odd values" and "Cards with even values", which allows any card to be played.

You should also consider the fact that some combinations are confusing, such as "odd numbers" and "prime numbers" (which would just look like an "odd numbers" rule that randomly allows for 2).

I had a lot of fun with the game and look forward to future versions!

Excellent and thanks for the response!  Sounds like you all have a pretty clear assessment of things that need to be updated and change : ).  Hopefully we'll catch the updates as they hit.

Great idea and the art is really nice.

Outside of 'same number + colour' I honestly found it hard to work out the rules cause I didn't know what the rules could possibly be. A reference of all rules would be useful if this is worked on more.

I think it'd be really useful to see the last 4 played cards to help work out the rule too. Some cards are played so fast that you only have the most recent card to help.

Being able to change colours/numbers when its not your turn shouldn't break anything.

The cards continued to be played after the game ended which may cause a null ref at some point.

Such a great comment! Some of us thought a history of played cards might be interesting and removal of the time limit but ultimately decided a faster paced game would be stronger! Thanks for playing and catching a few of the bugs!

Thanks for playing the game.
Your feedback is actually very useful and informative. Indeed a few more things could have been added to make the game simpler but it is after all a GameJam submission with a time limit to achieve everything. It has bugs and it has some missing features but overall we feel the game is amazing. Reading your comment I feel that you too enjoyed the game too.

fun little game , the art is super charming and the game is kinda stressful

but my smooth brain could handle more than 4 rules lol

(+2)

Thanks for playing.
Haha Yes 4 is indeed amazing.
We made a level with 9 rules and it messed up our play-testers. Good think they forced us to work on it more.

(+2)

Haha, as a play tester I can confirm this xD

The rules counter never got above 2, so I waited for quite a bit before I realized something was wrong. Lovely concept and art
though!

Thanks for your review! Actually, when you're on the win screen, "restart game" pits you to the next level, with more rules getting added. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

(+1)

Ahaa, I see. So the game needs to finish before more rules are added? I never got to that point XD.

(+1)

So, you were on a "You Won" screen, right?

(+1)

No, I never managed to finish a game
